This charming German-made Rooster in Chicken Coop, which dates back to the late 19th or early 20th century, was designed as a spring toy that allowed the rooster to "crow" as it turned out when the door was opened.
This unique toy is priced according to its condition. Unfortunately, the rooster has lost the mechanism that enabled it to crow, and the spring load is no longer working. Even though the hen and rooster exhibit signs of aging, the entire piece still ignites the imagination of toys from the past, and perhaps with the right skills, someone could bring back the rooster crowing!
With dimensions of 6 inches wide, 5.5 inches tall, and 4.25 inches deep, this delightful piece would make a wonderful addition to your collection.
